Every playable necklace begins with a real piece of audio and is created to order. The goal is not simply to place technology inside jewelry, but to turn a meaningful recording into something personal, wearable, and carefully finished.
1. It begins with your recording
The process starts with audio that means something to you. It might be a voicemail, wedding vows, a child’s voice, laughter, a heartbeat, a pet sound, or a message recorded specifically for the necklace.
You do not need to have the recording ready before placing an order. Some customers know exactly which file they want to use, while others still need time to locate a voicemail, save audio from an older phone, or extract a meaningful moment from a video.
What matters most is that the meaningful portion can be heard clearly enough to use. The file may come from a voice memo, voicemail, video, or another common source.
2. Your audio becomes a personalized Soundwave
The engraving is created from the actual recording you provide, giving the finished necklace a visual connection to that exact voice or sound.

The Soundwave is generated from the customer’s recording rather than using a stock or decorative waveform.
A unique pattern
Every recording creates a different visual shape, so the engraved design is tied to one specific piece of audio.

The waveform is prepared to fit the chosen shape while remaining clear and recognizable after engraving.
3. Personalized for you
The recording is only one part of the final piece. Shape, text, spacing, and natural wood grain all influence how the necklace looks.

Heart, circle, and teardrop designs create different visual styles and offer different amounts of engraving space.
Optional text
A name, date, initials, or short message can be added beneath the Soundwave adding another personal touch.

4. The Soundwave is laser engraved into ironwood
We send you a proof of the design for your review. Once you approve the design, the Soundwave and any optional text are laser engraved into the ironwood surface.
The goal is a clean engraving that remains easy to see while still allowing the natural character of the wood to remain part of the finished piece.

6. Every necklace is inspected and tested
A personalized playable necklace has to look right and work correctly before it leaves the workshop.
Visual inspection
The engraving, text, inlay, frame, chain, and overall finish are reviewed before packaging.
Playback testing
The NFC feature is checked to confirm it can be accessed and is linked to the correct recording.
Final review
The completed necklace is compared with the personalization details provided by the customer.
7. The finished necklace is prepared for its new owner
Once the necklace passes inspection and playback testing, it is placed in its presentation packaging and prepared for shipping.
Because each piece is made to order, the necklace is not taken from prebuilt inventory. It moves through the process as one specific customer’s keepsake from beginning to end.
Playable necklaces are generally completed within one to two business days after the required recording and personalization details are available.
